Occupational Therapy Overview

1. Assessment and Evaluation:

  • Conduct thorough assessments of the patient’s physical, cognitive, emotional, and social abilities.

  • Evaluate the patient’s ability to perform daily tasks (e.g., dressing, cooking, cleaning, etc.).

  • Assess the home and workplace environment to identify any barriers to independence.

  • Identify any underlying conditions or challenges affecting the patient's functioning.

2. Developing Treatment Plans:

  • Create individualized treatment plans based on the assessment, outlining goals and interventions.

  • Set short-term and long-term goals with measurable outcomes.

  • Collaborate with the patient and their family to ensure that the treatment plan aligns with their preferences and needs.

  • Reassess and adjust treatment plans as the patient progresses.
