Occupational Therapy Overview
1. Assessment and Evaluation:
Conduct thorough assessments of the patient’s physical, cognitive, emotional, and social abilities.
Evaluate the patient’s ability to perform daily tasks (e.g., dressing, cooking, cleaning, etc.).
Assess the home and workplace environment to identify any barriers to independence.
Identify any underlying conditions or challenges affecting the patient's functioning.
2. Developing Treatment Plans:
Create individualized treatment plans based on the assessment, outlining goals and interventions.
Set short-term and long-term goals with measurable outcomes.
Collaborate with the patient and their family to ensure that the treatment plan aligns with their preferences and needs.
Reassess and adjust treatment plans as the patient progresses.
